SANYI AT A GLANCE

Know before you go

Official information checked 31 July 2026; reconfirm tickets, opening, transport, weather and controls before departure.

Layout

Sanyi is a hilly township at the southern end of Miaoli. Sanyi TRA Station, Highway 13 and the Sanyi interchange are the main gateways, but Shengxing, Longteng, Shuimei and the Huoyanshan perimeter are separate, sloping districts.

Transport

Check the TRA timetable and current bus stops, then reserve a taxi or operator transfer with a return. Do not plan an unverified walk between mountain attractions.

Weather

Rain, fog, thunderstorms, rockfall alerts and railway suspension can close or invalidate a route. Huoyanshan Nature Reserve is protected and not a casual public trail; its ecology education centre is currently closed.

Railway and conservation etiquette

Stay off operating railway track, never climb bridge ruins, respect homes and shops, and do not enter the nature reserve without the legally required purpose and approval.

AI-generated landmark impression, not an onsite photo: the broken red-brick piers of Longteng Bridge in the Sanyi Old Mountain Railway context
AI-generated landmark impression | Not an onsite photo
AI image basis and prompt

The official leisure-area record supports the Old Mountain Railway and Longteng Bridge landmark; this illustration uses only the broken red-brick bridge, without combining orchards, streets or a station.

Official landmark basis

Generation prompt

Create a clearly non-photographic hand-painted watercolor landmark impression of one single documented landmark in the Sanyi Old Mountain Railway context: the preserved broken red-brick piers of Longteng Bridge in a green hillside valley. Do not combine it with Shengxing Station, orchards, streets, shops, trains, houses, people, signs, readable text, active rail service, reconstructed spans, or photorealism.

Hakka agriculture and local life

Old Mountain Line Leisure Agriculture Area and Longteng Hakka Countryside

Use the visitor-service point for Hakka food, agriculture and village context, then visit only operators whose opening and booking are confirmed.
