TONGLUO AT A GLANCE

Know before you go

Official information checked 31 July 2026; reconfirm operations, transport, flowers and road conditions before departure.

Layout

Tongluo sits on Taiwan Railways’ mountain line. The station and town centre are the practical gateway; the Jiuhu plateau contains the national Hakka museum, tea farms and seasonal agriculture.

Transport

Walk from Tongluo Station for town stops. Pre-book a taxi and return for Jiuhu or hill routes. The Jiuzhang free shuttle operates only on listed weekdays and times, not as a turn-up tourist bus.

Weather

Chrysanthemums are normally visible only from November to early December. Cancel trails and ridge cycling after rain, in fog, strong wind, thunderstorms or low daylight.

Local etiquette

Fields and tea gardens are working land. Stay on public routes, never block farm vehicles, and enter only a booked operator or officially directed seasonal area.

The Hakka museum is easiest to verify. Tea fields, farm ridges, old trails and mixed-traffic roads are not consistently step-free.
